My chuckle of the day, 2009-12-21

One notable feature of .fetchmailrc syntax is the use of optional noise keywords that are supported simply in order to make the specifications read a bit more like English. The ‘with’ keywords and single occurrence of ‘options’ in the example aren't actually necessary, but they help make the declarations easier to read at a glance.
The traditional term for this sort of thing is syntactic sugar; the maxim that goes with this is a famous quip that “syntactic sugar causes cancer of the semicolon”.[88] Indeed, syntactic sugar needs to be used sparingly lest it obscure more than help.

I often post and share many things.

Many times posts are whatever I am up to or find interesting and amusing. Sense of humour is everything :P. My social presence grew out of keeping a public journal; originally subtitled “Captain’s Log Supplemental”. Thus when I use the label Captain's Log it usually means a personal journal entry.

As years have gone on posts related to music, movies, manga and anime are frequent offenders. Posts are often related to computer things. Android and unix systems such as FreeBSD and Linux regularly come up. Being a programmer fluent in many things, sometimes those creep in as well. In fact if I was stranded on an island I am ore likely to write a program to entertain myself than make an S.O.S. with the rocks. Just Another Computer Geek.

Photos and posts involving my dogs and food related things are also very common here.
